Late Summer Sensory Overload
It seems that every year, I have a number of concerts and events pile into one small window, leading to sensory overload and a big boost to my morale. After going to the Ticketmaster well one more time, this is what my schedule now looks like:
Tomorrow through Sunday is the Del Close Marathon, as I've previously detailed.
Tuesday, 8/1, we have skybox seats for The Dixie Chicks at MSG. "But Dan, you don't listen to the Dixie Chicks" - this is very true. Katie received the tickets as a thank you from work, and it'll be catered - and who am I to turn down prime tickets at MSG?
Thursday, 8/3, is our 4th anniversary. There will be a pleasant dinner at Shelley's, undoubtedly.
I am out of town 8/6-8/11 on a business trip; 8/12 and 8/13 I am out of town for a wedding.
8/17 is the eclectic pop Summerstage show, with Peeping Tom opening for Gnarls Barkley. Summerstage shows are always fun, and I'm hoping this will be no exception.
8/23 is Revenge Of The Book Eaters. I went to the last big McSweeney's / 826NYC show at Lincoln Center (TMBG vs. McSweeney's), and the lineup for this one is somehow more phenominal.
A mere two days later, the 25th, is the annual Ted Leo Seaport show. It is not to be missed.
Finally, 9/14 is the Keane concert.
I don't say this enough - I love this godforsaken city.
